It takes your breath away.

Why didn't they teach us this?

Why didn't they teach us this?

Teachers will be able to take parents of disruptive pupils to court under Government plans to be unveiled this week.

It seems that stories about the education hash up in the UK are all the rage at the moment.

Now we see that there is a determination that the parents of unruly children are to be sued if their children disrupt classes.

Once again the brilliance of the pathetically useless administration at justifying it’s own existence is shown for all to marvel at.

After destroying any real parental control of lively, independent and willful children by the introduction of regulations affecting the direct imposition of sanctions and punishment, these brilliant administrators now ensure that they are seen to be ‘doing something’ by proposing to tie up the courts of the land with totally pointless and specious cases against the very people who usually have the best interests of their children at heart.

Children do not disrupt classes because they want to. They disrupt classes because the pathetically inadequate system that they operate within actively encourages it. Our children are no longer encouraged to excel in classes. Our children are no longer allowed to compete against each other in school. Our children are not stupid but they do remain competitive if the stultifying boredom that school represents does not kill their initiative all together!

If they can’t compete against each other, they will compete against the system.

If there are no ways to punish the infractions (which there aren’t) our children will be taught by example and experience that they can do anything they like without fear of reprisal of any sort apart from some pathetically inneffective attempts to ‘reason’ with them by people who have no real life experience of children.

Parents look on with ever increasing dismay as their children remain ignorant and become more and more disillusioned as they are criminalised by once read a book (but didn’t colour in all the pictures) experts who have destroyed all means of parental control and reduced teachers to child minders.

Teachers and parents were once respected and held in high esteem by children. Teachers and parents were once an effective team that worked together to ensure that our children received the best education possible while teaching, respect, self respect and self discipline using a time tested and acknowledged process of punishment and reward.

Children are no longer aware of what discipline and self restraint can bring by way of rewards. They have been turned into mini-tyrants and have been given a level of freedom with which they cannot cope. It’s about time that the theorists went back to their books and spent a few years colouring the pictures they didn’t do before and let proper teachers and parents work out the salvation of future generations before there is no-one left to care.

The competitive nature of our children should be embraced and harnessed so that it can return some of the desire to acquire knowledge that the current system has destroyed.
