Apart from the noteable exception of the La Trocha fiasco, the Ayuntamiento de Coín has done a really good job with the town – until now.
What on earth inspired them to return dual traffic flow to Calle Feria?
If we are to believe what has been reported, the change back has been prompted by complaints by local businesses that the one way system has been costing them trade. I can’t quite see how this can be true – after all, with parking available along the whole of one side of the street, people could actually stop and do some shopping.
How will they do that with no parking at all? Will even pedestrians want to risk crazy traffic going in both directions after having such pleasant and easy passage for so long?
We have seen what “local business people” have done at La Trocha so their wisdom needs to be closely examined. It seems they don’t always seem to know what is in their best interests. (Or are they expecting the level of illegal parking in Calle Feria to be so high that they will have more customers?)
I notice that parking meters are going to be installed – where?
