Lots of stuff about lots of stuff.

Another from the “You couldn’t make it up!” department

The following is an extract from a news report, quoting an official police spokeswoman:-

A Hertfordshire police spokeswoman said: “Officers have now spoken with a 23-year-old man from Edinburgh in connection with an alleged incident.

“He was spoken to under caution, and at this stage no further action has been taken.

“Officers will speak with the potential complainant as and when he leaves the house at some point in the future.”

McHugh was not arrested and did not go to a police station, she said.

What was involved to create this alarming need to inform the public?

Two (apparently) adult males had got into a disagreement in the Big Brother house and one had spat at the other. Just how much time can the police justify wasting on such trivial incidents?

How many hours of police work that could have been directed against real crime were squandered in this matter?

You will notice that no complaint has been made but the police, in their wisdom, have made expensive enquiries just in case there is one. Doesn’t this rather beg the question of those people who have received threats of physical harm being told that “nothing can be done until the threat is carried out”.

Dennis McHugh the spitter.

Mohamed Mohamed the spat at.

I have this horrible suspicion that had those names been reversed, no police action would have been taken (as it wasn’t in a recent case of abusive behaviour against Anglo Saxon named house guests.)

Doesn’t that tell you something about police attitudes?

Will they convert the potential complainant into an actual complainant requiring restitution for his hurt feelings, public humiliation and severe mental trauma and any other cash benefits he could get because he was unable to sort out his differences with another man in a sane and reasonable manner?

I do not condone the gutter behaviour of so many young people nowadays but it is the culture which our governement has created for them. A culture that is glorified on TV and in films.

A culture that says Great Britain has lost the plot.
