Natasha Gray was voted the sexiest teacher in 2002 on a TV show.
Seven years later she is still looking good and had the temerity to allow photographs of herself to be displayed on a modelling web site on the internet wearing (be still my beating heart!) a thong in one picture while lying face down on a bed.
The head teacher of Cambridge Community College, where she now works (lucky Cambridge) has done his crust, as you would expect, and spluttered about the inappropriate behaviour of Miss Gray. (Maybe he surfed the site and dribbled on his best cavalry twill trousers?)
The head teacher, Ben Slade, is reported as having said ”They (the pictures) were absolutely not pornographic but do you want to see your teacher in that way? Probably not.”
What planet does he live on for crying out loud! How many obese girls and boys are at the college who might be inspired by this excellent example of personal pride by a PE teacher? What century does he live in?
If he wants to get uppity about something, let me pull him up on one of his ‘proud’ boasts. The college has managed to lift the number of pupils gaining 5 A-C passes in the GCSE from 32% to 50%. If he believes that this is something to be proud of, he needs to resign and get a job that he is good at.
With the Education Authority drive to increase passes, this 18% increase is only smoke and mirrors – it would have happened anyway under the quota system that now seems to determine passing grades!
Education in the UK is a mockery at the moment. Teachers are given no respect by either pupils or parents and they are trying to teach with the huge burden of also being social workers without the training and subject to the most insane charges of abuse at the whim of any disaffected parent.
Only 50% pass at a level of achievement that barely passes for learning much more than the difference between night and day is shameful. It’s even more shameful when you realise that these results are based more on assessment than examinations.
Shame on you for a prudish, political toady Mr. Slade and well done Miss Gray – maybe your example might just make one child realise that slim is good and fit is better.
I suppose that Mr Slade will now feel he is on a roll and start criticising lady teachers for their skirts being too short, their trousers being too tight or their smiles being too easily misinterpreted. Give a man like that any encouragement and there is no end to the damage he can do. He has already said that he is seeking advice on a suitable punishment for Miss Gray – is he feeling that little ‘power monster’ raging within himself? Has he nothing more important to waste the time of the enormously over paid and non productive, ineffective education authorities? Maybe not – maybe his mind can’t hold two thoughts at the same time.
